Jo Brand
Episode 10 of 12
Russell Davies interviews comedian, writer and actor Jo Brand.
Russell Davies interviews A-list legends of music, art, comedy and film. As part of Radio 2's week at the Edinburgh Festival, Jo Brand recalls her journey from being a psychiatric nurse to establishing herself as one of Britain's leading stand-up comedians.
From her days treading the boards in the alternative comedy clubs in the mid-80s, Jo landed regular TV spots in the early 90s which lead to her own comedy series. She is now also a respected writer and actress. Jo explains to Russell the struggles she faced along the way, her stand-up influences and how she creates comedy.
