It's A Dog's Welcome, Driverless Cars and Bluebells

Proposals to ban dogs from public places including beaches, parks and footpaths are being considered by Carmarthenshire County Council. The authority is planning to use new powers under the Anti-social crime and policing Act to tackle irresponsible dog owners. But dog owners have criticised the plans, with the Kennel Club urging its members to oppose any proposals to limit dog access, while tourism operators in West Wales claim any ban on dogs would be detrimental to their business.

And the Countryside Code says dogs should always be under control but what are the rules when you take your dog out?

Could driverless cars be the answer to rural Wales' transport issues? Prototypes of the first driverless cars went on trial earlier this year with the UK Government setting the target of becoming a world leader in the technology. We hear why academics at Glyndwr Univeristy believe our country roads are an ideal place to pioneer their uses.

The Dee Estuary's cockle beds will be closed this season. Natural Resources Wales says it follows a "serious drop" in the quality of cockles. It's the first time the beds have been closed since 2008.

And it's facing threats from habitat destruction, collection from the wild and cross-breeding from a particularly virulent Spanish variety, but at this time of year, you can't beat the floral display provided by our native bluebells
