
Young Artists Day - The Young Verb
For Radio 3's Young Artists Day, Ian McMillan presents a special edition from MediaCity in Salford of the cabaret of the word, celebrating young writers and performers.
As part of Radio 3's Young Artists Day celebration, The Verb presents a special cabaret of the word showcasing young writers and performers, recorded in front of an audience at MediaCity.
Ian will also announce the winners of this year's prestigious Verb New Voices scheme. In association with Arts Council England and a range of writing organisations, The Verb will be mentoring four new writers from across the North to produce innovative new work for radio. Ian will introduce the very youngest of the winners on this show.

Radio 3 salutes some of the new and upcoming talent active in the arts today under the age of 25. As well as hearing from young choreographers, composers, musicians and writers throughout the day, Radio 3 will be playing music of great composers in their youthful periods, alongside recordings of seminal performers made when they were young.

Amy Blakemore has twice been named Foyle Young Poet of the Year. Her first collection, Humbert Summer will be published by Eyewear Press in July.
Kizzy Crawford

Kizzy Crawford is a singer-songwriter who writes and performs in both English and Welsh. In 2014 Kizzy was chosen as one of the BBC Radio Wales/Arts Council Wales 'Horizons 12' acts. Kizzy is currently recording her second EP. Kizzy's upcoming live dates are here
