Wendie Williamson had wanted to move her family to Australia for more than a decade. After going back to college and university to improve their chances of gaining a visa, both she and husband Peter believed the time was right for a move.
The couple's 18-year-old son Sonny had his own life in Hartlepool and was reluctant to join them, but Wendie couldn't imagine leaving him behind. A year ago, Wendie had just one week in Australia to try and change his mind. So are the family still together? And where do they call home?

The Williamson’s life down under has gone from strength to strength. Wendy and Peter recently purchased their dream home. Just a stone’s throw from the beach, it’s got six bedrooms and a pool! And for Wendy, the best bit is that son Sonny also made the move to Australia at the start of December.
