How Far Does Money Control Your Life?
What are the home truths when it comes to our relationship with money? How much does salary drive us in life and ambition? How do we, as women, feel if we earn more or less than our partners? Emma Barnett met up with a group of our listeners for a candid chat about money including Wendy - a 49 year old single mum, Ellie - a 24 year old journalist and 57 year old Maggie, a self-employed illustrator.
Asexuality
A listener said she wanted to hear more about asexuality on Woman’s Hour. So we talk to Lexy Hudson - who was the asexual rep at her student union – and to advice columnist Suzi Godson about myths, misunderstandings and representation.
Stained Glass
Listener Mark Stewart had long been admiring the beautiful stained glass windows in Shrewsbury Cathedral. He wrote to us after discovering that the artist, Margaret Rope, had been virtually ignored in her home county, without a mention in the new Shrewsbury Museum and little more country wide. Margaret Rope was born in 1882 and at just 28 years old was commissioned to produce several large windows for the Cathedral there. Over her thirty year career she went on to create stained glass works displayed in churches across the UK as well as in Italy, Canada, South Africa and Australia. So why do her achievements appear to be ignored? We invited Mark to London to meet our reporter Tamsin Smith in a quest to find out more about the elusive Margaret Rope.
Body Confidence
15-year-old listener Immie tells us about her #ILoveMy… body confidence campaign.
