This week launches the Afternoon on 3 Nordic and Baltic season. Conductor Ben Gernon had his BBC Proms debut this year and joins the orchestra for Johan Halvorsen's Pictures from Norwegian Fairy Tales, Richard Strauss's Burleske for piano and orchestra with soloist Zhang Zuo and Mendelssohn's youthful First Symphony.
