Balcombe's Funeral

Hannah and Dan's beloved drama teacher Mr Balcombe has died and Dan and Hannah have mixed emotions about the funeral. Dan has never been to a funeral before so he's worried he'll make a mistake. Will he cry too much? Too little? It's an emotional minefield. Hannah just can't wait to see all the old drama gang - flabby Debbie (or Flebbie as everyone called her), Dan's mates Jack and Sheriff and Hannah's first kiss, Adam Piper.

As the funeral unfolds, Hannah and Dan discover their old friends haven't changed at all - Dan is still being dared to do dangerous stuff by Jack and Sheriff ('because it would be weird'), and Adam Piper is still the One That Got Away, a situation Hannah is determined to change - even if it has to be at Mr Balcombe's funeral. With Hannah and Dan at the centre of events, the wake spins quickly into disaster.
