Gavin explains that when he and his mate Billy Boyd failed to get noticed on the U.K hip-hop scene, they took the decision to drop their Scottish identities, reinventing themselves as Californian hip-hop duo Silibil n' Brains, earning themselves a £250,000 Sony record deal.
