Charting Annie Brewer's nephew's attempt to find out more about her life as a WWI front line nurse who won some of the highest medals for gallantry ever bestowed.
Annie Brewer served as a nurse on the front line throughout the First World War and won some of the highest medals for gallantry which the French government can bestow. But, despite this incredible record, little is known of her life and of the day she almost lost her life when her hospital came under attack. Her great nephew Ian has been obsessed with her story for more than 50 years. Now he is determined to find out more about her life and career and about the family rumour that she married in the heart of battle. Ian is travelling to France to follow in the footsteps of this remarkable Welsh nurse.
