Among the first races on the track are the men's 400m hurdles heats, with 2010 champion Dai Greene in action. Asha Philip leads the British charge in the heats of the women's 100m.
Martyn Rooney, bronze medallist in the men's 400m four years ago, is again in the British squad, while the men's decathlon also begins.
