Tackling Alien Species
Asian Shore Crabs, Killer Shrimps, Floating Pennywort - they may have exotic names but it costs the Welsh economy and estimated seven billion pounds to deal with non-native invasive or "alien" species and we need to rid ourselves of the invaders! That was the findings of the Assembly's Environment and Sustainability Committee earlier this year which further stated plants and animals introduced to Wales are having devastating impacts on our native wildlife. Rachael Garside journeys along River Dee where they're waging war against the invaders of the riverbanks.
