Serena Williams was a surprise casualty at this stage in 2013 when the five-time champion lost to German Sabine Lisicki in three sets. There were also mixed results for the home crowd in 2013 as Laura Robson lost in straight sets to Kaia Kanepi but Andy Murray defeated Mikhail Youzhny to seal his place in the quarter-finals.
