Martha Gellhorn

The American author and war correspondent Martha Gellhorn, discusses her career and writing with Nigel Forde. Martha Gellhorn began her career in 1937, reporting from around the world. She has also written fiction, including A Stricken Field. She talks about how she became a foreign correspondent at the age of 21, her experiences in the Spanish Civil War and witnessing of some of the 20th century's worst conflicts. A programme from 1990.
