Lancashire, 1912: It’s Wakes Week in Hindle and Fanny Hawthorn has gone to Blackpool with her friend Mary.

At least, that's what she tells her parents. But when the truth's revealed, that she’s been with wealthy mill owner's son Alan Jeffcote, then everybody has their own ideas as to what Fanny should do...

Stanley Houghton’s classic Lancashire comedy was written in 1911, and revived by the Royal Exchange Theatre Company in Manchester in the 1990s.
