Gillian and Stuart Orrett often dreamt of emigrating so when eldest daughter Christine moved to Perth and had the couple's first grandchild, their resolve only strengthened.
On a trial week living in Australia, paramedic Gillian discovered work opportunities were good and the move looked certain but did fate intervene?
One year on, Nicki Chapman discovers if the Orrett family have finally been reunited on the other side of the world.

Gillian returned from her third trip to Perth at the start of February 2015 and is still waiting on confirmation of work with St John’s Ambulance. Samantha and Lauren went to Australia on working holiday visas in 2014. Lauren has an Aussie boyfriend and has now enrolled as an international business studies student. Samantha and her boyfriend are currently working on a farm and hope to settle in the country permanently. Gillian and Stuart’s granddaughter is now two and a half and daughter Christine and her husband have just brought their first house. Son Mathew is at college in the UK but hopes to be able to join his sisters soon.
