The oldest fixture in international rugby has been attritional in recent years, with tries at a premium. Stuart Lancaster's England triumphed 13-6 on their last visit two years ago, their first win in Edinburgh since 2004.
Scotland's third-placed finish in the tournament last year was their best since 2006 and interim head coach Scott Johnson will be looking to build on the promise of a narrow defeat by Australia in their most recent home game.
