On the Trail of the Lonesome Pine Marten
One of the rarest animals in Britain, the Pine Marten was thought to be extinct here in Wales...but the discovery of a dead one last November, near Newtown was an encouraging sign that they're living in Wales. It's thanks to the 5p plastic carrier bag levy that a 2 year project from the Vincent Wildlife Trust is underway to help this rare native mammal.
And if you think you've spotted a Pine Marten or would like to get involved - the project officer David Bavin would love to hear from you [email protected]
