Vocalist and presenter David Grant was part of the UK soul outfit Linx.
So who better to revisit this unique era, which saw artists experimenting with a fusion of jazz, funk, urban dance rhythm and pop hooks.
David reveals how the origins of Brit-funk heralded a new dawn of dance music, cutting through racial boundaries in the clubs.
