They Knew What They Wanted

Adaptation of Sidney Howard's play about an Italian wine grower who conducts a courtship by mail with a lonely waitress and asks her to marry him. When she arrives at his California vineyard, however, she discovers the photograph he sent her was not of himself but of his foreman. Though she agrees to go ahead with the wedding, it is the handsome foreman she turns to for comfort when the farmer is injured in an accident.
