Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team join forces with an army of local tradespeople to come to the aid of a family in Dudley. All three children in the Whitehouse family have an inherited condition called Fragile X Syndrome. The symptoms vary, but their youngest son has been hit hardest and has learning difficulties.
Dad Wayne and mum Joanne attempted to build an extension to their house to try and cope. But after a year of living in a building site whilst trying to help their children, it has all become too much. There are just nine days to complete the job, and the plummeting sub-zero temperatures are just one more obstacle to overcome.
