5. Realisation

Helping her cope with a tragic event, Colin realises his friendship with Marilyn Monroe must end. Concluded by Samuel Barnett.

Colin helps Marilyn Monroe cope with a tragic and unexpected event.

Next morning, he wakes to the realisation that he must put an end to their friendship: too many people claim Marilyn as their property to allow him to stay close to her for much longer.

His week-long adventure is over.

In 1956, Colin Clark worked as a 'gofer' on the set of 'The Prince and the Showgirl', the film that disastrously united Laurence Olivier with Marilyn Monroe.

In this memoir, Clark recalls how, during filming, he became Monroe's confidante, helping her escape from the pressures of filming.

Abridged by Robin Brooks.

Read by Samuel Barnett.
