Documentary series recreating a 19th-century pharmacy. The team looks at how a lack of regulations enabled chemists to invent products ranging from fireworks to jelly.

It is an era of innovation in the Victorian pharmacy, and the lack of restrictions or regulations enabled 'experimental chemists' to invent products ranging from matches and fireworks to custard and jelly. These entrepreneurs expanded and changed the range of products in the pharmacy forever. Tom Quick and Nick Barber learn some basic pyrotechnics and then the team lay on a Victorian-style fireworks display for their customers.
