Beasts on the Lawn by Saki (Omnibus)

Five short stories by Saki (H.H Munro), adapted by Sean Grundy. 1: Tobermory, 2: The Interlopers, 3: Sredni Vashtar, 4: Gabriel Ernest, 5: Mrs Packletide's Tiger

A collection of short stories by Saki (HH Munro) recycled and restaged in a modern day gated community for the far too wealthy for their own good.

The tales are woven together by the character of Clovis, a security guard.

She recalls the events of strange days and long nights.

Story 1 - Tobermory. A barrister couple seek help from Clovis when a demonstration at one of their dinner parties goes horribly wrong.

Story 2 - The Interlopers. The fighting of rival academics reaches new heights when they're in competition for a prestigious award.

Story 3 - Sredni Vashtar. Ten-year old Conrad is having an unhappy time of it, but he believes his pet ferret will avenge his woes.

Story 4 - Gabriel-Ernest. Vile celebrity chef Van Cheele meets his match.

Story 5 - Mrs Packletide's Tiger. Mrs Packletide, ghastly wealthy inheritor of the Gippe perfume empire, needs to shoot a tiger.

Omnibus of five stories, adapted by Sean Grundy.
