Episode 5

Ricky hears from people who have faced a massive crossroads or turning point in their lives, and have ended up taking a different road to the one they started on. With the knowledge and experience they've acquired along the way, Ricky finds out how they reflect back on those difficult times and what words of wisdom they wish they could give their younger selves.

This week husband and wife, Julia and Lawrence Patton, tell Ricky how their life fell apart when they lost their home, their business, their car and all their savings. When the recession hit the former property developers, they were left with nothing and needed to find a whole new way of living, and a new set of values to live by. They reflect back over those tumultous years, and tell Ricky what words of wisdom they'd like to give their younger selves who faced bankruptcy.
