Discussing Darren with Jodie inspires Kat to rush home mid-manicure and seduce Alfie. It doesn’t go well. Later, Kat’s unhappy to see Michael in the pub. Mo persuades Alfie that he and Kat need to have sex. Alfie prepares the bedroom with candles and champagne, but Kat stays in the bar partying with the girls. As the pub empties, Kat stops Michael, desperate for him to tell her he shares her grief. Kat kisses Michael but he rejects her, without Tommy there’s nothing between them. Kat’s distraught and unaware that Alfie’s seen everything.
Whitney’s horrified when she wakes up to find David gone and £50 on the table. Disgusted, she wants nothing to do with the money, but backtracks when Janine suggests that means she’s still a child and should go home. At the Vic, seeing Janine with Michael, Kat lashes out, telling everyone that Janine used to be a prostitute. Whitney’s shocked and feels guilty for reacting badly when David assumed she one.
Darren tries to persuade Jodie that his kiss in R&R meant nothing. Abi attempts to console Darren. Kim and Jodie have a drink in the Vic; they’re joined by Glenda, Roxy and Kat. Sure the time is right for them to be together; Abi makes the sitting room look suitably romantic and invites Darren over. Darren tries to let her down gently, he’s too old for her and still loves Jodie. Jodie walks in and Darren proposes. Abi’s heartbroken.
Finding him asleep on Ronnie’s sofa, Roxy’s intrigued by Michael. Jack tells Michael he can stay as long as he likes. Angrily, Kat tells Ronnie she’ll regret taking Michael in, he’ll destroy her and Jack. Ronnie tells Jack Michael can’t stay but he overrules her.
Shirley arranges an engagement party at the Vic for her and Phil.
