One Way to Necropolis

Waterloo to Woking. Alan Dein explores the "dead line" where trains took the departed to their final station. From 2005.

Alan Dein goes in search of a coffin ticket, a Victorian funeral train and the guardians of what was once the world's largest cemetery.

Departing from London's Waterloo station to Woking, Alan sets out to retrace the route of the Necropolis Railway.

Along the way, he uncovers the story of the station of the dead.
