Max phones Vanessa after finding one of her earrings. Max is surprised when Lauren unexpectedly arrives home from America, closely followed by Tanya and Vanessa. Tanya’s furious, she reveals Lauren’s been expelled from school and sent home for doing drugs. Vanessa gets dragged into the conversation and soon she and Tanya start talking to each other instead of Max and Lauren. Max suggests Lauren stay with him for a while. Vanessa decides to leave. Max is trying to persuade her to meet him later when Stacey appears on the doorstep, she left her phone at Max’s last night. Max assures everyone that nothing’s going on between him and Stacey but it’s too late, Vanessa’s gone. Lauren talks to her American boyfriend, Edward, via webcam. He claims he’s trying to get the money together for his flight to England.

Janine and Ryan return from honeymoon. Stacey tells Max that Lily is Ryan’s. Max watches as Ryan blanks Stacey. Pat, Whitney and Ricky visit the newlyweds. Janine tells them all she’s pregnant then admits she’s joking, Ryan’s uncomfortable when Janine assures Whitney she’ll never be an aunt. Max confronts Ryan, and tells Janine that Ryan is Lily’s father.

Leon’s won two tickets for a music festival in France and has to decide who to take. Leon breaks one of Grace’s commemorative plates. Fat Boy tries to raise the money to replace it, using Jim posing as a war veteran. When that fails, Fat Boy appeases Grace with a homemade copy of the plate. Leon tells Fat Boy he’s been seeing another woman but has decided to take Zsa Zsa to the festival.

Kat’s unhappy that Alfie’s spent all their money on the Vic, and tells him to get it back. Instead, Alfie sets up a temporary bar in the Barrel Store.
