This is expected to be the most thrilling and unpredictable general election for generations. David Dimbleby will be your guide as the votes are counted around the country and the results begin to pour in. Over the next 24 hours we will discover who will lead this country over the next five years.

Will David Cameron or Ed Miliband succeed in gaining an overall majority in the House of Commons? Or will there have to be tough negotiations and another coalition government? Fiona Bruce will be in Sunderland to see the first seats declared. Jeremy Vine, Emily Maitlis and Sophie Raworth will analyse the results as they come in. Andrew Neil will grill political heavyweights in the BBC Election Centre. Laura Kuenssberg will follow how the night is unfolding on social media and our political editor, Nick Robinson, will assess the impact this result will have in the days, weeks and years ahead.
