Peter Curran continues his attempt to drive a battery powered car round Europe. This week, the autobahns of Germany and an uphill struggle over the Alps. En route he visits the huge Volkswagen plant and test drives a hydrogen car.

But Peter's main concern is finding enough places to charge up the battery, and at one point he ends up in a garden full of gnomes...
