In 2009, Britain's Andy Murray comprehensively beat former French Open champion Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-2 6-4 to reach his first Queen's final. American James Blake emerged from the other semi-final after compatriot and four-time champion Andy Roddick was forced to retire halfway through the first set with an ankle injury.
