Drochaidean is Cabhsairean
An t-seachdain-sa air Eòrpa tha sinn a' sgrùdadh ceangalaichean còmhdhail. Anns an deich thar fhichead bliadhna a dh'fhalbh tha leasachadh mòr air tighinn air còmhdhail anns na h-eileanan.
Bridges and Causeways
This week on Eòrpa we examine the effects of transport links on island communities. The last thirty years have seen huge improvements in transport links both to and between islands, resulting in closer and more integrated communities. Fifteen years have passed since the Skye Bridge opened, thirteen since the Scalpay Bridge and eight since the Eriskay causeway. We investigate whether these communities have reaped the predicted benefits of improved transport links.
