A romantic comedy of manners based on the play by Noel Coward. Following a trip around Europe, young John returns to his family estate in the country to surprise his parents with a glamorous American bride - race-car driver Larita. John's mother takes an instant dislike to her, so free-spirited Larita must fight to hold her ground as John's wife while living within the stuffy confines of his aristocratic life. She soon proves to be an unwelcome disruption to its old-world traditions and morals.
