We Three Kings

Ian Hislop probes the story and importance of the three kings of the Nativity - and how they ended up in Germany! From 2008.

The Three Kings merit only 11 lines of the Nativity story but they are so important to the Christian faith that they have their own feast day.

But who are these mysterious figures from the East and why do they still fascinate us?

Ian Hislop examines the legend of the Three Kings of the Nativity to discover how history has shaped their legacy.

Along the way, he encounters strange astrological events, the Archbishop of Canterbury and an unusual detour to Colchester.

Producer: Philip Sellars

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in December 2008.
