Originating from the Cambridge University Footlights revue 'Cambridge Circus', ISIRTA ran for 8 years on BBC Radio and quickly developed a cult following.

Bill, Graeme and Tim went on to become BBC TV's The Goodies and John Cleese helped found Monty Python's Flying Circus. David Hatch went on to be a producer, Controller and then Managing Director of BBC Radio. Jo Kendall later featured in The Burkiss Way.
