This Prom marking 50 years to the day since the death of Ralph Vaughan Williams concludes with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Andrew Davis performing Serenade to Music, with words by Shakespeare and, according to tradition, featuring 16 leading British singers. The programme ends with Vaughan Williams's last symphony - the Ninth - which was completed when he was 85 years old.
