The 16 teams have been whittled down to just two and if they cannot be separated over the next 90 minutes, extra time and penalties will follow to decide who will be crowned kings of Europe. Just one previous European Championship final has gone to penalties and surprisingly, Germany were on the losing side as the former Czechoslovakia prevailed in the 1976 tournament.
