Returning champion Roger Federer is looking for his sixth consecutive Wimbledon singles title, a modern-era record. Also back is his great rival, Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who pushed Federer to five sets in the final last year.

Venus Williams won the women's title in 2007, beating Marion Bartoli in straight sets.
