Hidalgo

Action adventure. A wealthy Arab sheikh invites a disenchanted ex-cavalry officer from the United States (Viggo Mortensen) to enter the famous Ocean of Fire race in the desert.

Period adventure set in 1890. Frank T Hopkins, a US cavalry officer, and his horse Hidalgo are billed as the greatest horse and rider in the world because of the countless races they have won. They are challenged to take part in the Ocean of Fire, a 3,000-mile desert horse race running across Arabia. They travel to the Middle East for the gruelling race and Frank is forced to face the demons that have plagued him.
