The walls come crashing down for Roy.

As he catches Roy excitedly measuring up Willow Farm, Mike says he needs a word. But before he can, Brenda arrives. Seeing Roy's plans, she bitterly thanks them for taking her feelings so seriously. Brenda and Roy end up arguing, neither capable of seeing the other's point of view. When Brenda walks out Mike explains to Roy that the real reason Brenda doesn't want the house to change is because it's the only connection she's got left with her mother.

Repentant Roy apologises to Brenda but then upsets her further when he says Betty wouldn't have wanted them to live in a mausoleum and that he still wants to divide the house up. Brenda asks him to leave.

Eddie notices that Bert's a bit down. Bert explains that since Freda's lost a lot of weight at the slimming club she's been taking more care of her appearance. Eddie jokingly warns Bert that it can only mean one thing - there must be a man she wants to impress. Later, over a pint, Eddie bemoans his healthy diet, Bert worries about Freda straying and Mike regrets offering to divide his house. Kenton comments that he's feeling depressed now - and he came to the pub to be cheered up!
