Sid and Jolene plot how to get hold of Lilian's diary to find a love-sick passage they can show to Matt. They decide the only way to do it is for Sid to sneak into Lilian's room to locate a suitable page while Lilian's downstairs serving customers. Sid manages to retrieve a page successfully, even though Lilian catches Sid in her room - but she believes him when he mumbles he was just checking her radiators. Jolene's pleased. All they need to do now is find a way of getting it to Matt.

Jennifer tells Adam that the inheritance issue has got to be sorted out. She's chuffed to get a Mother's Day gift from Adam but less so when Brian presents her with Ruairi's card and present. Things are tense between Adam and Brian and when Adam heads off to get away, Jennifer snaps at Brian that she's not even allowed to spend time with her son on Mother's Day.

Later Jennifer tells Brian that by treating her children so badly, he's forcing her to change how she feels about Ruairi. When Brian tells her she's blackmailing him, Jennifer says she's no longer sure she can give Ruairi the love that he needs.
