Imaginary Words
Four children go on a week-long course in poetry writing. With help from poet Paul Lyalls, they must write their own imaginative free-verse poem.
Four children are given a week off school and are taken to a farm in Devon for a crash course in poetry writing.
In this programme, Maddy, Autumn, Chemra and Charlie are challenged to write a free verse poem using their wildest imaginations. Paul Lyalls is their poet in residence who is on hand to help them, and they also get a visit from poet Kit Wright, who reads one of his poems and gives them tips on how to write poetry. Plus, there are poems on film performed by Zoe Wanamaker and Joseph Fiennes.
The programme follows the children throughout the week, capturing their highs and lows as they write their poem.
