Work colleague Helen has a date for the first time in eight years.

So Clare gets roped into looking after a 16-year-old delinquent Gareth for the evening....

Sally Phillips is Clare Barker the social worker with all the right jargon but never a practical solution. Bogged down with her own issues, she's not so good at listening to others and often manages to put her foot in it with her views.

A control freak, Clare likes nothing more than bossing others around. She's in her 30s, white, middle class and heterosexual, all of which are occasional causes of discomfort to her.
