Mike's signed up more kids for the fishing day. He tells Pat that Wendy won't be there, and admits he's disappointed that things don't seem to be working out. He's also disappointed that Roy and Hayley have found a house on the other side of Felpersham. Mike hoped they'd still be with him when the baby arrives.

With the preliminary hearing in two days, Kathy's struggling to cope. She puts on a brave face for Jamie but is thankful that Sid's taking him for the evening. Kathy confesses she fears Taylor will get bail. Pat and Sid try to reassure her.

DS Collins calls on Nigel and Elizabeth again. He asks directly about Kathy's relationship with Taylor and they admit that Kathy and Taylor were very good friends. Elizabeth explains about Kathy's split from Kenton, and how she thinks Kathy used to confide in Taylor. DS Collins picks up on what they're saying and wants more information. Once he's gone, Nigel and Elizabeth start to feel uncomfortable. Elizabeth hopes they didn't give the impression that Kathy and Taylor were in a relationship. Nigel tries to assure Elizabeth that they've done the right thing - they only told the truth.
