David and Ruth put on a united front.

Susan is confiding in Pat at the shop - she's very worried about Emma. Pat has a bit of experience of adult children and their relationships, and tries to help. Kathy joins them and asks Pat to come out and sit on the bench for a chat. She tells Pat what has happened - that she has been to the police and told them that Taylor raped her. At first, Pat is relieved for Kathy, but then realises that Kathy has been concerned that Pat would blame her for not going to the police earlier. Pat says Kathy is not to blame for anything. Only one person carries blame in the whole ghastly affair.

David goes with Ruth to the first consultation for her breast reconstruction. The doctor is very clear and straightforward about it all. David is frankly horrified at the level of surgery she will have to undergo. He wonders if she really wants to do it. Ruth is a bit more prepared, and convinced that she wants to go ahead. David tells her that whatever she does, she'll still be the sexiest woman in the world to him.
