Alice aims for the sky.

Phil tends his vegetable plot ready for the Flower and Produce show. Ruth comments that if there was a prize for the most-watched runner beans he'd walk it! Ruth's chuffed when Phil tells her about David's phone call from Natural England - they've got onto the scheme at the Higher Level.

Alice is in a flap about her RAF interview but Adam reassures her that she'll be fine. It's a reluctant Ruairi's first day at school and he's so upset when he arrives that Jennifer has to settle him in. Worried Brian feels mean as Ruairi's had so many new things to contend with. But Ruth comforts Brian; children are very resilient, Ruairi will settle in and it'll be fine.

Later Adam and Jennifer chat about Ruairi's first day and Jennifer says at least she only got asked once if she was his grandmother. Alice excitedly interrupts - she did it! The RAF are recommending her onwards to Cranwell. But when Adam suggests having a joint belated birthday party with her at home, Alice doesn't think it's a good idea - it would be better if they went out. When Brian turns up to congratulate her, she cuts him short and makes her excuses.
