Emma dreams of better things.

Bert's worried that the Massey tractor won't be repaired in time for the next ploughing match.

Emma has a bad day with George whilst she's cleaning at Brookfield and bursts into tears when Ruth asks her if she's all right. She wonders what's happened to her life especially now that Will's got a new girlfriend and Ed's out having fun with Fallon. She used to have ambitions, but now she's back living at home mopping floors for a living.

Tom's not happy that Brenda's spending so much time working for Matt and will be glad when Brenda's back at university.

Phil's disgruntled at Bert's unexpected appearance at his vegetable patch. When Bert goes, Phil tells Ruth he reckons Bert was trying to find out what Phil will be entering for the Flower and Produce Show.

Clarrie confides in Pat that she had an awful time when she and Eddie had tea with Nic. Clarrie doesn't trust her and reckons she's looking for someone with prospects to be a father to her kids, She can't stand back and watch William make another mistake. But Pat counsels caution; Clarrie should grit her teeth, smile and above all not let William know how she feels.
