Mike's at the fishing lake and is keeping an eye out for the snake. Later on, Brian and Ruairi meet Mike and help him weigh a fish. Mike tells them how much Phoebe enjoys fishing with him. Ruairi asks if he's seen Kate's baby and Mike is embarrassed by the fact that Ruairi is Sipho's uncle.

Brian excitedly arrives at Honeysuckle Cottage with champagne and a cheque for Alice. He tells her that with her results she could go to Oxford - she says she's decided to join the RAF and that people who care about her think it's a brilliant idea. She refuses the champagne and goes to bed, while Adam tries to console a devastated Brian.

Will and Nic are very excited about their evening together. They spend some time looking through photos of Will's childhood. Will suggests they go on holiday but Nic tells him she wouldn't be able to afford it. Will's sorry he mentioned it, and admits that just being there together is very special. They chat about her meeting his parents - he says they'll love her, and they should arrange it. After one sensual kiss, they decide to try it again, though not on the sofa...
