Revenge is sweet for David and Kenton.

Ruth is woken by David climbing into bed at three o'clock in the morning. At first she assumes he's been waiting up for a fox with his gun, but no. David claims he was simply socialising with Kenton. Ruth tries to find out what David and Kenton have been up to but they're not giving anything away. Later Ruth, David and Eddie bemoan the terrible impact of the rain.

Debbie phones to say she's coming over before going on to South Africa to see the new baby. Brian knows that Jennifer would love to go and see Sipho too, so he suggests it. Jennifer thinks she couldn't possibly leave Ruairi. Wistfully, she wonders if there's any way they might all go - but knows really that it would be far too difficult for Brian and far too disruptive for Ruairi. Brian persuades her to go. She wouldn't have thought twice if Ruairi hadn't been around, and she mustn't think twice now - she'll only start to resent him. Jennifer wavers, then realises she would be away for Alice's exam results. Brian doesn't think she would mind. Jenny should ask her.
