Drama series looking at the birth of the Roman Empire through the eyes of ordinary citizens as well as famous historical figures. With Antony ensconced with Cleopatra in Egypt, Atia is left bereft. As Rome is left suffering by the devastation of the grain supply, Octavian sends Atia to Egypt to plead with her ex-lover. When she is refused an audience Octavian finally has the means to turn the people against their beloved hero.
