Opportunity knocks for Brenda.

Brenda has a meeting with Matt; she's worried he's going to ask her about Lilian and Mike's relationship but instead he offers her a summer job working for him. Amazed, she accepts. Tom isn't impressed; Matt's a slime ball. Brenda assures him that she'll still help with Gourmet Grills but she'll stop working at Jaxx.

In the search for a name for Oliver's new cheese Mike tells David he's suggested Revilo (Oliver backwards). Ruth tells them that there is good support for plans for leafleting the public at the Royal Show about the crisis in the dairy industry. Ruth isn't looking forward to the fete committee meeting but it goes better than she hoped. No-one came up with a 'big idea' so they've decided to have a traditional laid-back fete. Eddie will be town crier, announcing events and competition winners.

Because of village gossip, Mike wonders about giving up his dance lessons with Lilian but she persuades him that he can't desert her. Mike reluctantly agrees but when Matt walks in unexpectedly on them Lilian is forced to make up a story about Mike collecting the milk money. Matt isn't fooled. He knows something's up - he's just not sure what!
